Rachel Burton has been practicing for over 11 years having studied hard over a 9 (plus) year period gaining the following qualifications in MSc McTimoney (Animal Chiropractic), Post graduate diploma in Clinical Sports and Remedial therapy (level 5), BSc Hons in Human & Equine Sports Science, Equine Body Worker certification (EBW), Diploma Canine Remedial Massage, Low level laser therapy certification. Further studies continue in MSc Veterinary Physiotherapy and regular Continued Professional Development (CPD) Courses.

Following up a long term personal interest in Human and Animal physical therapy and rehabilitation, Rachel gained valuable experience as an Animal McTimoney (Chiropractic techniques), and Human/Animal sports/remedial massage therapist.

Rachel has lectured in practical and theoretical aspects of Animal and Human sports science to degree and HND students. She retains a particular interest in nutrition, exercise therapy (dynamic and passive), rehabilitation from acute and long-term injury, plus ways to develop Animal/Humans to ensure optimum performance, including static, ridden and non-ridden ground exercises.

Rachel remains busy in her practice in the East midlands and is fortunate to provide treatments for a wide variety of patients from polo, racing, dressage and hunting horses to working dogs and human runners, golfers, riders, triathletes and those who are just hard-working people or animals wanting to feel more comfortable.
During equine and canine treatments Rachel uses skills to palpate (feel) for restrictions/fixed areas in the spine and joints elsewhere, plus associated soft tissue abnormalities or muscle tension, followed by a gait analysis to assess any links between dysfunction. The treatment includes the latest veterinary and McTimoney techniques, Sports & Remedial Massage and Electrotherapy (Low level laser therapy, tens/electrostimulation, ultrasound, to encourage tissue repair and nerve/blood function). Following treatment further aftercare advise on rest, exercise, rehabilitation clinics and follow up treatments are discussed.
